Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has reportedly prioritized a move to Barcelona ahead of the January transfer window. However, the Englishman will have to reduce his salary by half to make the move possible.
Marcus Rashford rose through the ranks of Manchester United's youth academy and made his senior team debut in February 2016. The Englishman has been praised for his versatile attacking abilities and pace, making him one of the most promising talents of his generation. In 426 outings for the Red Devils, Rashford has contributed 138 goals and 63 assists.
However, since the arrival of new coach Ruben Amorim, Marcus Rashford appears to have been sidelined at Old Trafford. The attacker has claimed that he's ready for a new challenge and has been heavily linked with an exit.
According to journalist Fabrizio Romano (via SPORT), Marcus Rashford is keen on a move to LaLiga if he were to leave the Premier League. Barcelona are reportedly his preferred destination as he believes his football could develop better at the club. The report further claims that United are open to selling Rashford for less than €40 million.
However, Marcus Rashford reportedly earns more than €17 million net, which is a figure Barca can't afford. Romano's aforementioned report suggests that Barcelona only consider a deal for Rashford feasible if the attacker reduces his salary by half, which seems implausible.
Apart from Barcelona, the English forward has also been linked to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and Saudi Arabian clubs, as they can afford his salary. However, Rashford will have to compromise on his wages if he wants to secure a move to join the Catalan giants in January.
Manchester United keen on signing Barcelona defender Inigo Martinez: Reports
According to Fichajes.net, Manchester United are keen on securing the services of Barcelona defender Inigo Martinez this summer.
Following the injury of first-choice center-back Ronald Araujo this summer, Inigo Martinez has become one of Hansi Flick's most trusted players in defense. However, the 33-year-old's contract runs out in June 2025 and the lack of contract renewal talks has reportedly caught the Red Devils' attention.
The aforementioned report claims that Manchester United consider Inigo Martinez a good candidate to resolve their defensive woes that have been apparent this season. The Premier League giants are reportedly planning to tempt Martinez with a lucrative contract to bring him to Old Trafford next summer.
Meanwhile, La Blaugrana's are also keen on renewing Inigo Martinez's contract. However, the Catalan side's well-known financial woes may hamper their plans, with the next few months considered decisive in determining the center-back's future at the club.
