The Manchester United duo of Marcus Rashford and Casemiro have delivered their verdict on the first training session with new head coach Ruben Amorim. The Portuguese tactician was recently appointed to right the ship at Old Trafford after the side's terrible start to the campaign.

Rashford has been far from his best for his childhood club this season, with four goals and three assists in 1,194 minutes across 18 games. The 27-year-old, however, seemed pleased with his first training session under the new manager, taking to his Instagram story shortly after to say:

"Top session today."

Casemiro, another underperforming member of the team, shared his enthusiasm as well. The Brazilian wrote on X:

"Top Training."

The former Sporting Club de Portugal manager took over at United on November 11. He will be expected to lead the team up the table and back into contention for European places before the season ends. The Red Devils currently sit in 13th place on the English Premier League table with 15 points from 11 games.

"Letting Ruud van Nistelrooy leave the club would be Ruben Amorim’s first mistake" - Former Manchester United star Louis Saha

Former Manchester United striker Louis Saha has claimed that Ruben Amorim has already made his first mistake in charge of the club. The 39-year-old was appointed less than two weeks ago but is already having to deal with the opinions of dissenting voices from outside the club structure.

Saha played 124 games for the Red Devils, scoring 42 goals and setting up 16 to help the club to two Premier League titles, a League Cup and the UEFA Champions League. Despite not working in an official capacity in football since his retirement, the Frenchman believes he has already spotted a flaw in the former Sporting boss's actions. He told BoyleSports via GOAL:

"Letting Ruud van Nistelrooy leave the club would be Ruben Amorim’s first mistake. Amorim would miss out on having that understanding of the club to hand as well as the information regarding what has changed in the last four games. That information is crucial to taking the club forward with the players now feeling comfortable again."
"It would be a big shame for Van Nistelrooy to leave and I do understand that the new manager is going to want to bring his own staff in, but having him there will help to get the best out of the players.”

Following his appointment to the hot seat at one of the biggest clubs in the world, Ruben Amorim will have a tough task on his hands at Manchester United. The Portuguese tactician will do well to shut out the noise and get the team functioning to its best capabilities as soon as possible.
