Fans have reacted as Real Madrid named their starting line-up for their La Liga game at Villarreal on Sunday (May 19). Los Blancos have already clinched the title, having lost just once all season.

Carlo Ancelotti's side are coming off a rousing 5-0 home win over Alaves in midweek, their third straight win across competitions after clinching a record-extending 36th La Liga title two weeks ago.

With little to play for, Ancelotti has given starts to summer signing Arda Guler and the 24-year-old Brahim Diaz, who has missed large swathes of the season due to injury. Despite most of the top starters like Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo Goes not starting, fans reckon another 'masterclass' is loading.

One fan tweeted:

"Arda and Brahim masterclass loading"

Another chimed in:

"Arda Guler goal. Brahim goal and assist. I'm seated."

One fan said:

"Arda Guler and Brahim ball, vamosssss"

Another commented:

"Arda scoring a hattrick"

A third added:

"The super stars are ready"

Los Blancos are riding an impressive 23-game unbeaten run across competitions, winning 17, since losing 4-2 after extra time in the Round of 16 of the Copa del Rey in January.

Real Madrid are in the midst of a fabulous season. Carlo Ancelotti's side have already won the Supercopa Espana and La Liga titles and are also in the UEFA Champions League final, where they play Borussia Dortmund on June 1 at the Wembley.

The aforementioned Atletico defeat marked Los Blancos' second defeat of the season, with the first one also coming against Atletico, a 3-1 reverse in the top flight.

Los Blancos beat Villarreal 4-1 in their first league meeting of the season in December. Jude Bellingham, Rodrygo, Brahim Diaz and Luka Modric were the scorers that night at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Ancelotti's side close their league campaign at home to Real Betis on Saturday (May 25) before they take on BvB as they seek a second La Liga-UEFA Champions League double in three years.
