Former Manchester United defender Jaap Stam has stated that Chelsea star Cole Palmer could join the Red Devils in the future. The Englishman joined the Blues from Pep Guardiola's Manchester City for a reported £42.5 million in September 2023.
Since making the switch to west London, Palmar has scored 36 and assisted 21 goals in 63 appearances across all competitions. He's also the side's top goalscorer in the Premier League this season with 11 goals.
Addressing Palmer's current form, Jaap Stam stated that Manchester United made a mistake by not signing the Englishman last summer. He also heaped praise on the 22-year-old and affirmed that he would love to see Palmer in the Red Devils jersey in the future, saying (via SportLens):
"Seeing the potential of Cole Palmer and him being just next door, you do wonder how Manchester United missed out on him, or maybe they did try and couldn't get a deal over the line."
Jaap Stam added:
"It would still be great to see him at Manchester United and being a fan of the club, he'd probably like that to happen as well. However, in his current form, there might not be any clubs who can afford him. He might one day be worth £200 million the way he is going."
Cole Palmer grew up in Manchester and supported the Red Devils while growing up. However, he's an academy product of Manchester City, where he played between 2009 and 2023.
Chelsea midfielder Moises Caicedo talks about the two players who inspired him to become a professional
Chelsea midfielder Moises Caicedo has named N'Golo Kante and Claude Makelele as the two Blues players who inspired him to become a professional footballer. During a recent interview with the official website of the Stamford Bridge outfit, he said:
"I always supported Chelsea because N'Golo Kante played for Chelsea and he was my inspiration, he and Claude Makelele. I didn't watch Makelele live but I would watch videos of him. I grew up watching them and they were my inspiration to become a professional player."
Moises Caicedo was reportedly approached by Liverpool before he signed a deal with the west London club. He joined the Stamford Bridge outfit in August 2023 for a reported £115 million on an eight-year deal from Brighton & Hove Albion.
Since then, the Ecuadorian midfielder has played 67 matches for the Blues, scoring two and assisting seven goals across all competitions. Moises Caicedo has become an important figure in Enzo Maresca's side, starting all 17 Premier League matches. He has also captained the side in two league games.
