MLS has announced that TikTok will broadcast every Lionel Messi move in Inter Miami’s first MLS Cup Playoffs match. It will be the first time that TikTok will broadcast an entire live match with focus on a single player.

Lionel Messi propelled Inter Miami to win the Supporters' Shield for the first time in the club's history. As champions of the MLS Eastern Conference, they earned the right to participate in the Audi 2024 MLS Cup Playoffs. The playoffs will commence on Tuesday as teams from the Western and Eastern conferences go head-to-head in a bid to win the MLS Cup.

The playoffs will begin with a clash between CF Montreal and Atlanta United in an Eastern Conference wildcard match. The winner will face Inter Miami in a best-of-three series to qualify for the conference semifinals.

On the MLS and Inter Miami TikTok accounts, the camera will solely focus on Lionel Messi.

Lionel Messi voted MLS Player of the Matchday for Matchday 38

Inter Miami talisman Lionel Messi has been voted the Major League Soccer Player of the Matchday for Matchday 38 of the 2024 MLS season. The Herons capped off their 2024 MLS campaign on a high, setting a new league record.

They defeated New England Revolution 6-2 on the final Matchday to become the team with the most points (74) in a regular MLS season.

With the scores tied at 2-2, the Argentine legend was subbed on in the 57th minute, replacing Julian Gressel. Messi scored an incredible hat-trick (78', 81', 89') within 11 minutes to secure a comprehensive win for the Herons.

In recognition of his incredible cameo, the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner was named the MLS Player of the Matchday for Matchday 38, his sixth award this season. He was named the POTM on Matchdays 9, 11, 12, 32, and 36. He joined Carlos Vela (2019) and Jason Kreis (1999) as the only players to be named POTM six different times in a single season.
