“More Madridista than anyone I’ve seen” - Real Madrid attacker Vinicius Jr sends touching farewell message to Nacho

Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior sent a heartfelt farewell message to Nacho after the 34-year-old announced his decision to part ways with Los Blancos. The former captain made the announcement of his departure after 23 years at Santiago Bernabéu.

The Spaniard joined the youth academy of the club in 2001 when he was 10 years old and made his first-team debut in 2012. In an official Instagram post, Los Blancos wrote:

"Real Madrid C. F. announces that our captain Nacho has taken the decision to end his career as a Real Madrid player. Real Madrid would like to thank and express our appreciation to Nacho, one of the club's biggest legends."

Following the announcement, Vinicius Junior made a post on Instagram, paying tribute to the former Los Blancos captain with the caption:

"Nacheteeee, mi Capitan!!! It's been a pleasure to play with you all these years. You're more Madridista than anyone I've ever seen 😂 Thanks for everything! You are an amazing person who deserves everything you have earned and so much more! I wish you all the best in your new stage! 🤍 LEADER and EXAMPLE 🤍"

Los Blancos' former Number 6 and Vinicius Junior have played 156 games together across six seasons for the La Liga giants.

The 34-year-old defender has been with the Spanish giants for 12 seasons and during his tenure, he made 364 appearances while winning 26 trophies. This includes four La Liga, two Copa del Rey, five Supercopa de España, six UEFA Champions League, three UEFA Super Cup, and five FIFA Club World Cup titles.

In the official announcement of the veteran's departure, Los Blancos president Florentino Pérez said:

"Since he arrived at our youth academy as a child, Nacho has been an example to everyone and has earned the affection, recognition and admiration of everyone at Real Madrid. Real Madrid is and always will be his home."

With the Spanish defender taking his leave, Croatian midfielder Luka Modrić, who has been with the club since 2012, is expected to become the new captain of Los Blancos.
