Manchester City fans have blasted Phil Foden after he struggled to make an impact during their 4-0 defeat against Tottenham Hotspur. The two sides locked horns in their Premier League clash at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday, November 23.
The Cityzens's struggles continued as they fell to their fifth defeat in a row across competitions - the most in Pep Guardiola's managerial career. Dejan Kulusevski delivered a sensational cross which was well-finished by James Maddison to break the deadlock in the 13th minute. The latter then doubled their advantage seven minutes later with a lovely dink over Ederson after Manchester City lost the ball in midfield.
Dominic Solanke assisted Pedro Porro who unleashed an unstoppable shot into the left side netting (52') to make it 3-0. Brennan Johnson tapped home in the third minute of stoppage time following Timo Werner's rapid run down the left wing to seal all three points for the visitors.
Foden was handed a start down the right wing, playing all 90 minutes. However, he created zero chances, landed one shot on target from four attempts with an accuracy of 25 percent, and lost two duels.
The 24-year-old has been poor this season for Manchester City, netting three goals and providing two assists in 15 appearances across competitions. He is also yet to score in nine Premier League games.
