Real Madrid fans believe the La Liga giants may be cursed as both Vinicius Junior and Eduardo Camavinga have picked up injuries on international duty.
Spanish journalist Melchor Ruiz reports that Vinicius could be set for a month on the sidelines. The 23-year-old hobbled off with an injury in Brazil's 2-1 defeat to Colombia in a 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier on Thursday (November 16).
Vinicius has been nursing a thigh problem this season and it appears that a similar issue has occurred. He assisted Gabriel Martinelli in the loss to Colombia before being subbed off in the 27th minute.
Meanwhile, Camavinga has ruptured the external lateral ligament of his right knee. He did so during a collision with Paris Saint-Germain's Ousmane Dembele in France's training session on Wednesday.
The 21-year-old underwent tests and Real Madrid have confirmed that he will be out of action for over two months, per GetFootballNewsFrance. It comes as a massive blow for Carlo Ancelotti's side who are second in La Liga, trailing leaders Girona by two points.
Vinicius and Camavinga have been key for Madrid this season and their absences will be felt. Los Blancos are next in action against Cadiz on November 26 before turning their attention to Napoli in the UEFA Champions League three days later.
One fan thinks the Santiago Bernabeu is becoming a hospital:
"What is happening?? My club gradually turning into a hospital."
Here's how fans on X (formerly Twitter) reacted to the disastrous news for Los Merengues:
Bayern Munich initiate contract talks with Real Madrid target Alphonso Davies
Bayern Munich’s sporting director Christoph Freund has confirmed that the Bundesliga champions have contacted Alphonso Davies over a contract renewal. Speculation has been growing over the Canadian star's future with Real Madrid linked.
However, Freund appears to have poured cold water on Madrid's chances of signing Davies. He told SPORT BILD (via MadridUniversal):
"I’ve already spoken to Phonzy’s advisor. Real Madrid is not my topic. I talk to him about our plans with Phonzy here at FC Bayern."
The Bavarians' director insisted that the club want to keep the 23-year-old beyond 2025 when his current contract expires:
"Yes, of course – and as long-term as possible. "
Madrid have been prepared to start negotiations with the Bayern left-back if he made a clear indication he was willing to depart. He's regarded as one of Europe's best full-backs, managing three assists in 18 games across competitions this season.
