Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has revealed that he will only leave the Santiago Bernabeu if the club want him gone. The Italian manager's current contract with Los Blancos expires in the summer of 2026.

Ancelotti is in his second stint with the LaLiga giants at the moment. The Italian manager won the league, the Champions League as well as the Supercopa de Espana last season.

Real Madrid have endured a mixed start to the new campaign so far. Los Blancos secured the services of Kylian Mbappe over the summer, with the Frenchman arriving as a free agent.

However, Ancelotti has failed to get the best out of the 25-year-old so far. Meanwhile, the team have managed to get results without dominating the opposition.

Los Blancos have lost the last two games against Barcelona and AC Milan at home. The situation has given rise to questions regarding the future of the Italian manager, who is already 65.

Speaking to L'Equipe, as cited by acclaimed journalist Fabrizio Romano, Ancelotti insisted his wife is not pushing him to retire just yet.

“What could make me retire? I would say if Real Madrid fired me (laughs). I don’t know what would make me stop. My family? No. My wife wants me to continue!”

Recent reports have suggested that Real Madrid are eyeing Zinedine Zidane as Ancelotti's replacement. Bayer Leverkusen manager Xabi Alonso has admirers at the Santiago Bernabeu as well and remains an option.

When Carlo Ancelotti lifted the UEFA Super Cup in August this year, he joined Miguel Munoz as Real Madrid's joint-most successful manager. The Italian has now won 14 trophies with Los Blancos in his two stints.

The Italian initially took charge of the club in 2013 and won four trophies, before departing in the summer of 2015. Ancelotti returned to the hot seat at the Santiago Bernabeu in the summer of 2021 and has since won ten trophies in his second stint.

The Italian manager has two league titles to his name and has also won the Champions League three times. Ancelotti also has two Copa Del Rey, two Supercopa de Espana, three UEFA Super Cup, and two FIFA Club World Cup trophies.

Munoz, meanwhile, was in charge of the LaLiga champions from 1960 to 1974. He won the league a record nine times and also lifted the Champions League trophy twice.
