Former Premier League midfielder Jamie O'Hara has pushed for Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford to join his former club, Tottenham Hotspur. Red Devils boss Ruben Amorim has opted to leave the 27-year-old winger out of his last four matches entirely, which has only fuelled speculation of an exit.
Rashford also opened up in a bombshell interview with journalist Henry Winter, stating that he is "ready for a new challenge " This has coincided with Amorim's decision to leave him out of United's matchday squads. With an exit from Old Trafford on the cards, rumors have been rampant about his next destination.
TalkSPORT pundit Jamie O'Hara has shared his hopes that his former club, Tottenham Hotspur, would make the move for Marcus Rashford. He admitted, though, that the winger may not be too keen on joining Spurs, explaining (via PSG Talk):
“I’d snap your hand off for him. But I don’t think he’d sign for us. I would love him at Spurs but I just don’t think we’d be able to afford his wages. One of the big teams in Europe will have him. Bayern Munich, Dortmund, someone will pay his wages, 100 percent, PSG… He will go somewhere."
Indeed, the forward earns some £325,000 each week at Manchester United, which will not be easy for Spurs to pay. O'Hara continued, pushing the 27-year-old to leave Old Trafford:
"At the end of the day, Marcus Rashford is a big name in football, so I think he will definitely still have the opportunity to go and play football somewhere. And he needs to. He needs to get out of Manchester United. It’s done, it’s over, move on. He needs to get away from it.”
Marcus Rashford has played 426 games for the Red Devils, scoring 138 goals and providing 63 assists, since he broke into the first team as an academy graduate in 2016. However, his time at Old Trafford seems to be nearing its end.
Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim sends message to Marcus Rashford after Wolves loss
Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim has sent a message to Marcus Rashford after the Red Devils lost to Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Molineux. Their Boxing Day clash saw the visitors dealt a 2-0 loss, while Rashford was not a part of the team.
After the game, Amorim was asked if Rashford might have improved their chances to win if he was included in the matchday squad, to which he responded (via Metro):
"It’s always the same reason it’s going to be. We have to be the same professionals, I have to be the same guy winning or losing.Losing, I have to be stronger so I will continue with my idea until the end."
When asked if Rashford had improved after being left out of four games in a row, Amorim said:
"If he is not here, you can make up your mind."
Manchester United have now been dealt their third defeat in a row. They will look to turn things around in training, ahead of their upcoming match against Newcastle United at Old Trafford on December 30.
