After a goalless first half, Argentina opened the scoring through Julian alvarez (49') via an assist by Alexis Mac Allister. Lautaro Martínez then doubled the lead in the 88th minute after a stellar pass from Messi.

Former Liverpool goalkeeper David James has made his choice clear in the now infamous Ronaldo vs Messi debate, which has been going on for the better part of two decades.

James named the Portugal captain as his choice for the Golden Boot winner at Euro 2024 (via Football Extra on Sony Sports Network):

"Yes [Ronaldo is my choice for Golden Boot at Euro 2024], I think he'll score a free-kick as well."
