Fans reacted to applaud Arsenal's performance in the North London Derby, winning 1-0 at Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on Sunday, September 15.
Defender Gabriel Magalhães headed home a corner in the 64th minute to give Mikel Arteta's side a hard-fought victory away from home despite missing some key players.
However, they produced a fine performance to secure bragging rights over Tottenham. The Gunners have now won on their last three visits to Spurs for the first time in the Premier League era.
This victory puts the Gunners ahead of the Lilywhites. Fans have taken to X (formerly Twitter) to brag about being the dominant side in North London.
"North London was, is, and will always be red for anyone who wondering," an Arsenal fan page posted.
"What a hard fought win," another X handle wrote.
"They thought we couldn’t play without Rice and Odegaard," one fan tweeted.
"Arsenal win in black on Spurs’s funeral," a second fan said, mocking Ange Postecoglou's side.
"A win just like we expected. We focus on next patient which is City," a fan commented after the victory over Spurs.
Mikel Arteta expresses delight as Arsenal beat Tottenham
Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta was delighted with his team's victory in the North London derby. Speaking after the 1-0 away win, the Spanish manager said that he was 'super happy' to have another three points over their rivals.
"Well, I'm super happy, obviously. We know what it means to our club, to our people to win a London derby, and we have the power to try to make them very happy. So, hopefully, we have achieved that and that makes it very special," he said (via the club's website).
Arteta also spoke on his team's performances and how they had to adapt in the absence of key players.
"On the performance we had moments in the game, some really good ones, some others that we have to suffer. We suffered because we have to adapt a little bit the plan because of the players that we had available," he added.
Up next for the Gunners is a UEFA Champions League tie against Serie A side Atlanta on Thursday (September 19). After that, they will face another tough league clash, as they travel to leaders Manchester City three days later.
