Martin said that Southampton were in talks to renew the contract of the Manchester United target and that there was a reported £21 million bid. He said:

"I was told some rumours about Man Utd, one was a bid of £21 million. I'm not sure you'll get his left foot for that."

Talking about the contract situation, he said:

"We have offered him a contract, a really good contract for someone his age. At the minute, I don't think his agent agrees, so that's where we're at. I think Tyler wants it done, I think Tyler's parents want it done, so we'll see how long that takes. There is an option. We can extend. I don't think we want to do that - we want to reward Tyler for his performances.

"I've spoken to Tyler's mum and dad about it, I've spoken to Tyler, but then I'm not involved in any of the negotiations - that's down to Phil [Parsons, chief executive] and the gang, the owners and Tyler's agent - and that's where it gets tricky."

Tyler Dibling moved to Chelsea for a while before moving back, as he was unable to settle in London. The youngster made his debut in the Premier League this season and has been impressive.

Liverpool urged to sign Manchester United target Tyler Dibling from Southampton

On The Weekend Wrap on Optus Sport this season, Tim Sherwood said that Tyler Dibling would be the perfect signing for Liverpool. He said that the Manchester United target was ready for the next step in his career and should be thinking of Anfield as his next club:

“(Tyler) Dibling is the man, this boy, he’s playing against their feeder club. He will probably be (Liverpool's) next signing. I don’t know when that will be, he’s only 18 years of age, but he’s ready to step up, already you know there is a superstar in the making there.”

Liverpool are looking to sign a winger, as Mohamed Salah is in the final year of his contract. Dibling also has Chelsea and Aston Villa interested in him.
