Liverpool fans on X have backed Federico Chiesa to continue flourishing after he scored his first goal for the club during their 4-0 win against Accrington Stanley. The Reds were victorious during their third-round FA Cup clash at Anfield on Saturday, January 11.

Diogo Jota tapped home in the 29th minute to break the deadlock. Trent Alexander-Arnold netted a screamer from distance into the top-left corner to double their advantage (45'). Jayden Danns made it 3-0 in the 76th minute after Chiesa's effort rebounded into his path. The latter sealed the win for Liverpool 14 minutes later with a low, accurate shot from distance which found the bottom-left corner from the post.

Chiesa has struggled for game time since joining the Reds from Juventus over the summer. The Italy international missed 15 games across all competitions due to a muscle injury, falling behind Mohamed Salah and Harvey Elliott in the pecking order.

Despite not starting against Accrington Stanley, Arne Slot subbed on Chiesa at half-time. The 27-year-old took full advantage of his opportunity, landing three shots on target from an attempted four, hitting the woodwork once, and scoring a goal.

One Liverpool fan posted:

"First of MANY for Chiesa! He needed that, now he won’t stop."

Another fan tweeted:

"Impatient fanbase, can't give a player a chance to prove himself. Very Obvious Chiesa is making it here"
