Manchester United legend Roy Keane has slammed the Red Devils after their 1-1 draw against Chelsea at Old Trafford in the Premier League on Sunday (November 3). Although the hosts opened the scoring through a Bruno Fernandes penalty in the 70th minute, they were unable to hold on to their lead. Moises Caicedo equalized for the Blues just four minutes later.

After the game, Keane shared his dismay at United's performance. He said on Sky Sports:

"There is a long way back for this team. This is an average Manchester United team. All the stats back that up. They are hit and miss - you never know which team will turn up. Not good. 'Boring' seems a bit strong but they lack conviction."
"It's really disappointing. It's so flat. This team is way off it getting back in the top four. You look at certain individuals and they think they're better than they are. United are average at everything. There is nothing special about them. It was very quiet at Old Trafford. I was glad when the referee blew the final whistle."

Manchester United had a number of chances to secure all three points against Chelsea. However, they missed three of the four big chances they created and scored just once from an xG of 1.96.

The Red Devils are currently 13th in the Premier League table with three wins, three draws, and four losses from 10 matches. Chelsea climbed above Arsenal into fourth place after the draw.

Enzo Maresca discusses Chelsea's 1-1 draw with Manchester United

Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca seemed relatively impressed with his side's 1-1 draw against Manchester United. The Blues haven't won at Old Trafford in the league since 2013.

Speaking to the press after the game, Maresca said (via football.london):

"I think we controlled the game quite well. We knew against them, we will concede some chances, especially on the counter-attack. We knew that."
"We did the most difficult thing in this stadium against this team which is come back when they score. Probably after the 1-1, because we tried to win it, we exposed ourselves and that is why in the last five or 10 minutes, we conceded a bit more."

Indeed, Chelsea had more possession (54%) than Manchester United (46%). They also had more passes (391) and better passing accuracy (84%) than the Red Devils (321 passes with 80% accuracy).

However, the Blues struggled to create clear chances, with 12 shots at goal but just three on target (xG of 1.53). United had 11 shots at goal with four on target (xG of 1.96).
