Fans reacted online after Cristiano Ronaldo's Portugal were drawn up against Denmark in the quarter-finals of the 2024-25 UEFA Nations League (UNL). Some fans called the draw 'rigged', while others claimed only prayers can save the Danes from the 39-year-old superstar's attacking firepower.
Portugal finished atop Group 1 of UNL's top division, League A, with four wins and two draws (14 points) in six games. They scored 13 goals, of which five were scored by their talismanic captain, making him the topscorer in UNL League A.
Denmark ended up winning, drawing and losing two games each (eight points), finishing second in Group 4 behind Spain. They were matched up against A Selecao in the draw that took place on November 22 in Nyon, Switzerland.
Upon the conclusion of the draw, fans took to social media to deliver their verdict on Portugal's purportedly 'easy' fixture. On X, @barcal899 wrote:

Cristiano Ronaldo will be eager to repeat UEFA Nations League triumph with Portugal
Cristiano Ronaldo will be eager to recapture the UEFA Nations League title six years after lifting it for the first time with Portugal.
The 39-year-old led his side to glory in the first edition of the tournament in the 2018-19 season. Although Ronaldo didn't score a goal in the group stage, his side topped their group with two draws and two wins in four games (eight points) and qualified for the semi-finals.
In the final-four clash against Switzerland, however, he bagged an astonishing hattrick to power his side to a 3-1 victory. They beat the Netherlands 1-0 in the final, making them the inaugural winners of the competition.
Portugal have once again topped their group in the 2024-25 edition. If they win their quarterfinal against Demark, they will take on either Italy or Germany in the semi-final, and one of France, Croatia, Spain or Netherlands in the final.
With five goals in six group-stage games, Ronaldo has been on song throughout the tournament. Portugal will be counting on their legendary attacker to continue his incredible goalscoring streak if they are to have any chance of recapturing the UNL title.
