Chelsea midfielder Cole Palmer has said that he would've loved to play with club legend Eden Hazard. He added that while their playing styles are different, he tries to be 'as exciting' as the Belgian.

Palmer has been exceptional for the Blues since arriving from Manchester City last summer for a reported fee of £40 million. He scored 27 goals and provided 15 assists in 48 games across competitions last season. He also won the club's Player of the Season award.

He's started this season decently as well, registering two goals and four assists in seven games across competitions. In a recent interview, Palmer was asked to name one Chelsea icon he would've loved to play with. He answered (via Fabrizio Romano):

“If I could play with one Chelsea icon, it’d be for sure Eden Hazard."

When asked if he bases his game around the Belgian, Palmer said:

“Our game is different but I try to be as exciting as Hazard.”

The now-retired Eden Hazard was truly an iconic player for the Blues after arriving from LOSC Lille in 2012. He made 352 appearances, scoring 110 goals and providing 85 assists, helping them win numerous trophies. He left the club in 2019 to join Real Madrid for a reported fee of €120 million.

Christopher Nkunku reflects on his hat-trick after Chelsea's win over Barrow

Christopher Nkunku was on fire as Chelsea comfortably beat League Two side Barrow 5-0 at Stamford Bridge in the EFL Cup third round on Tuesday, September 24. He scored the game's first two games before completing his hat-trick in the 75th minute. Paul Farman's own goal and Pedro Neto's strike secured the win for the Blues.

After the game, Nkunku reflected on the win and the club's start to the season, saying (via Chelseafc.com):

"I’m happy but the most important thing is the win. We wanted to take the game seriously and we did that so we are all happy now.
"This is just the beginning of the season and we have only worked for just over two months, and now we are part of the process, but this is just the beginning. We need to work hard in every training session and every game."

Nkunku arrived at the west London side from RB Leipzig for a fee in excess of £50 million. However, he made just 14 appearances across competitions last season, registering three assists, due to injury issues. He's scored six goals in eight goals across competitions this season.
