Liverpool star Andy Robertson has been full of praise for new Anfield arrival Luis Diaz following his strong start to life at the club. The Colombian has hit the ground running since signing from Porto in January. Robertson believes that Diaz presents a new and dangerous problem for Liverpool’s opponents to ponder.
The Scottish fullback gave an interview with BT Sport after the Reds' 2-0 win over Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday. He said:
"He’s been incredible since coming in, he’s been special and hit the ground running. He was unplayable ay times today. The way he drives at defences, you can see people are scared of him. He’s got end product too. Sometimes it can take players a while to get settled in when they come during the January window but luckily that’s not been the case and hopefully it continues."
Diaz opened the scoring in the game and was a threat throughout.
The Colombian forward has already bagged two goals from five appearances for Liverpool despite only joining over the winter transfer window. With Diaz having hit the ground running, this could be another master stroke by Jurgen Klopp’s recruitment team in the transfer market.
Klopp's men now sit three points behind league leaders Manchester City. The Reds will hope to maintain their winning ways and snatch up an unprecedented quadruple come the end of the campaign.
Could Liverpool lose Mohamed Salah next summer?
Over the last few years, winger Mohamed Salah has remained consistent and on top of his game for the Reds. Although his contract ends next summer, it was believed that both sides will be quick to come to an agreement for an extension. However, the opposite has been the case.
The Reds and their key forward have reached an impasse, with Salah refusing to accept their most recent terms. According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, talks between the two parties have broken down, but Salah would like to remain at the club.
According to MARCA, it is believed that Salah wants to get paid as much as Cristiano Ronaldo or Kevin de Bruyne. Some Kopites will argue that his world-class consistency deserves it, while others will claim that the club simply cannot afford it.
However, if both sides remain at an impasse, Salah could leave Anfield next summer.
