“Pep out?” - Celebrity Arsenal fan reacts as Guardiola loses fifth game in a row at Manchester City

Celebrity Arsenal fan and TV presenter Piers Morgan asked if Manchester City should sack Pep Guardiola after they fell flat to a 0-4 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur. They lost at the Etihad in the Premier League on Saturday, November 23.

Piers Morgan seems to have a natural dislike for Guardiola. The Brit had once trolled the Spanish manager for complaining about congested fixtures, saying the latter should ‘cry him a bloody river.’ He had also taken a dig at Manchester City for their alleged 115 charges.

After Manchester City’s match with Tottenham, Piers Morgan took to X (formerly Twitter) and posted a picture of Guardiola. It was emblazoned with the list of the last five matches that the Cityzens had lost in a row. He then captioned it:

"Pep Out?"

Pep Guardiola recently signed a two-year contract extension that will keep him at the club for an additional two years on Friday, November 22.

Guardiola became Manchester City’s manager in 2016. In his eight years at the club, he has won every available trophy, with the recent one being the Premier League. In doing so, City became the first team in the history of the Premier League to win four consecutive league titles.

Pep Guardiola says Manchester City has never ‘lived this kind of situation’ after defeat to Tottenham Hotspur

Pep Guardiola says his Manchester City side has never been in the unwanted situation that they found themselves in today following their 4-0 defeat to Spurs. The defeat to Ange Postecoglou’s men at the Etihad today was City’s heaviest defeat in the Premier League in seven years.

The last time City were defeated by four goals under Pep Guardiola was at Goodison Park by Everton 4-0 on January 15, 2017. After the match against Spurs, the Spaniard spoke to the BBC and expressed his disappointment about the unwanted result. He said:

"In this moment we are fragile defensively. We started really well as normal but we could not score and then after that we conceded. After that we conceded some more which is difficult for our emotions right now.
"In eight years we have never lived this kind of situation. Now we have to live it and break it winning the next games, especially the next one. Now we see things in one way, maybe in a few weeks we see it differently."

City will next be in action against Dutch side Feyenoord at home in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday, November 26.
