Former Arsenal stars Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Dennis Bergkamp wished Bukayo Saka a speedy recovery after the English attacker shared an injury update on Instagram.
Bukayo Saka was substituted in the first half of Arsenal's 5-1 victory over Crystal Palace after he suffered a hamstring injury on Saturday, December 21. Almost a week after sustaining the injury, the Englishman uploaded a post on social media, providing an update. He captioned the post:
"The majority see obstacles, but few see the opportunities. Recovery has begun and I'm coming back stronger! Thank you for all your messages."
Several football stars came forward and wished Bukayo Saka a speedy recovery. Out of all the messages, two were sent by former Arsenal stars Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Dennis Bergkamp. The Dutch legend used an emoji while the Gabonese attacker commented:
"God's plan."
The Gunners recorded a 1-0 victory over Ipswich Town in their first match after Saka's injury. Addressing Bukayo Saka's injury, Mikel Arteta stated that he had undergone a surgical procedure and was expected to miss more than two months of action. He said (via BBC):
"He had a procedure. Everything went well, but unfortunately he will be out for many, many weeks. I said many weeks, so I think it will be more than two months. I don't know exactly how much longer. It will depend on how the scar tissue starts to heal, the first week or so, the mobility of that. Let's see, it's very difficult to say."
Bukayo Saka made 24 appearances for the Gunners, scoring nine and assisting 13 goals across all competitions this season.
Arsenal interested in signing Bayern Munich star on loan as Bukayo Saka's replacement: Reports
Mikel Arteta's Arsenal are looking to sign Bayern Munich's Kingsley Coman on loan as a replacement for Bukayo Saka, as per Evening Standard. The Frenchman was available for a loan deal in the summer as well.
Kingsley Coman joined the Bundesliga giants from Juventus on a permanent deal in July 2017. Since then, he has played 313 games for Bayern, bagging 67 goals and 68 assists across all competitions. However, the Frenchman has lately fallen in the pecking order and has started only six matches for the Bavarians in the Bundesliga this season.
Coman has played less than 1000 minutes this season and can join the North London club for more game time. The 28-year-old can help the Gunners get back on track after other wide players, Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli have failed to perform consistently.
