“Playing like he’s never kicked a football in his life” – Manchester United fans blast superstar for poor display in win against Bournemouth

Manchester United fans slammed Bruno Fernandes after he had a below-par performance during the Red Devils' 1-0 win against Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on May 20.

Manchester United came flying out of the gate early in the first half and took the lead in the ninth minute via a sensational Casemiro bicycle kick. The Red Devils dominated possession throughout the game (59 percent). However, David de Gea also made some brilliant saves to ensure they narrowly secured all three points.

Despite their win, Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes struggled to impact the game much. Only one of his three shots was on target, he was only able to make one successful dribble, and he made zero accurate crosses.

Fans conveyed their displeasure on Twitter. Their reactions can be viewed below:

"Bruno Fernandes you are an awful footballer, and nothing changes that, don't understand how this fanbase calls him the best itw and puts him on the same pedestal as KDB when he treats football like a grenade, How he's gonna survive in UCL when he can't even hack Bournemouth."
"Bruno Fernandes is the most confusing player I have ever come across. He can go from playing world class to complete a** the next."

Despite Fernandes' poor performance, the Red Devils' win boosted their hopes of qualifying for the Champions League. Their win took them to 69 points, three more than fifth-placed Liverpool who drew 1-1 earlier in the day to Aston Villa.

Manchester United have a game in hand and they would just need to secure one point from both their remaining contests in order to guarantee a top-four finish.

Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea wins Premier League Golden Glove after win against Bournemouth

David de Gea has officially won the Premier League Golden Glove after Manchester United defeated Bournemouth on Saturday. He kept his 17th clean sheet as the Red Devils narrowly secured a 1-0 victory against the Cherries.

David de Gea went into the game guaranteed to at least share the Golden Glove. This was because Liverpool's Alisson Becker was two clean sheets behind him, so the award would have to be shared if the Brazilian was able to continue his impressive form. Fortunately for De Gea, Jacob Ramsey was able to score for Aston Villa on the same day, ending the race.

This is the second time the Spanish shot-stopper has won the Golden Glove. He previously won the award in the 2017-18 season, where he kept 18 clean sheets. David de Gea would beat his own record if he is able to keep clean sheets in his remaining two fixtures against Chelsea (H) and Fulham (H).
