Portugal was knocked out of Euro 2024 after a dull match against France in Hamburg saw Cristiano Ronaldo and Kylian Mbappe produce little. The game will be remembered for the resoluteness of the defending and the lack of attacking invention on show.
Les Bleus made it through to the semifinals where they will face Spain in Munich on July 9. Roberto Martinez’s men were beaten on penalties after Joao Felix suffered the ignominy of being the only player to miss his spot-kick.
