Manchester United fans shared their thoughts as Marcus Rashford returned to the squad for the Premier League clash with Newcastle United at Old Trafford on Monday (December 30).

Rashford was excluded from United's squad for the first time this season in their Premier League clash against Manchester City on December 15. Since then, the Englishman has been out of the Red Devils' lineup for the next two league matches and their EFL Cup quarter-final with Tottenham as well.

While the change by new head coach Ruben Amorim regarding Rashford, who was a regular starter, raised questions, the manager explained that the 27-year-old needs to improve and earn his place in the squad.

Fans shared their excitement over Amorim's decision to recall Rashford to the squad for United's league clash with Newcastle. One wrote:

Rashford has registered seven goals and three assists in 24 appearances across competitions for the Red Devils this season.


Ruben Amorim on Marcus Rashford returning to Manchester United squad

Ruben Amorim explained his decision to recall Marcus Rashford for the Newcastle clash. The Manchester United boss said that Rashford's inclusion is a part of his player rotation, telling Sky Sports (via GOAL):

"Selection. We have a lot of players outside. Every week, I chose my players and this time he is here."

Amorim also emphasized on the importance of the Red Devils winning the game while mentioning that Rashford could be significant in the clash (via centredevils on X):

"We just have to do the maximum to win the game. Marcus could be important today."

Manchester United are 14th in the Premier League after 18 games, winning six.
