According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Real Madrid are looking at three potential signings to bolster their defense next summer. The Spanish giants boast an attack of Vinicius Jr, Rodrygo, and Kylian Mbappe and are looking to bring in reinforcements to strengthen their defense to match their fabulous attack.
The report suggests that Castello Lukeba, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Alphonso Davies are on the 3-man list for the Madrid-based club. Alexander-Arnold and Davies are both out of contract with Liverpool and Bayern Munich, respectively, next summer and could join the 13-time UEFA Champions League winners for free.
Lukeba joined RB Leipzig for €30 million and is contracted to the German side till 2028 and could be the only player that costs Real Madrid a fee.
All three defenders are 25 years or younger and highlight Los Blanco's dedication to recruiting young players for the future in recent years.
Real Madrid legend Luka Modric hails teammates after win over Espanyol
Real Madrid legend Luka Modric has hailed his teammates for their performance in the club's 4-1 win over Espanyol. Los Blancos came from a goal behind to beat their La Liga rivals in the game at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Dani Carvajal, Rodrygo, Vinicius Jr, and Kylian Mbappe found the back of the net to overturn Thibaut Courtois's own goal to give the Spanish champions another three points in their bid to retain their crown.
Speaking to Movistar Plus (via Fotmob) after the game, Modric said:
"We played a very good game but it's true that it was difficult for us to finish plays. We created a lot of chances but we have a lot of room for improvement. I don't know if it was our best or not but it was a great game, from start to finish. We must continue like today. To have Vinicius, Mbappe, Bellingham and Rodrygo is awesome; they are great."
The 2018 FIFA World Cup finalist concluded, saying:
"They and the whole team are doing everything right but we still can improve; we'll keep going in the next few games until we feel we reach out true potential. This match can give us confidence."
Real Madrid face Deportivo Alaves on September 24 in their next La Liga game and will be keen to extend their win streak to five games.
