Real Madrid’s 2-0 win over Real Sociedad on Saturday (September 14) came with concerns over injuries, particularly after Brahim Díaz was forced off in the first half with what appeared to be a leg issue.

Los Blancos' midfield options have already been depleted with multiple players sidelined and now according to journalist Arancha Rodriguez, Brahim is set to be sidelined for three months.

After the game on Saturday, coach Carlo Ancelotti addressed the situation and offered updates on Diaz's injury.

"Brahim had an abductor discomfort and we will evaluate him tomorrow,” Ancelotti said during the post-match press conference (via Managing Madrid).

After the assessment this morning, Real Madrid released an official statement, revealing that "the player has been diagnosed with an injury to the abductor longus muscle of his right leg."

The injury to Díaz, who played an important role in the midfield, could raise concerns for Madrid as they face a busy schedule with La Liga and Champions League fixtures. Aurelien Tchouameni, Dani Ceballos, Eduardo Camavinga, and Jude Bellingham are already sidelined for the All Whites.

Madrid will be hoping to avoid further setbacks as they prepare for their Champions League opener against Stuttgart on Tuesday (September 17). After the match against La Real, Ancelotti emphasized that while the current injury situation is manageable, squad rotation will be key in the coming weeks.

“I think the central defenders can rotate in the next matches. This was a match in which we lacked midfield and we had an emergency. In the next matches, we will have more players, and we will be able to rotate more," he said.

“Militao has nothing" - Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti provides fitness update regarding crucial star center-back

During the dying moments of the victorious match against Real Sociedad on Saturday night, Eder Militao was seen clutching his calf and limping on occasion. The image of Militao struggling on the pitch gave Real Madrid supporters plenty of headaches, with their backline already depleted owing to an injury to David Alaba.

However, after the game, coach Carlo Ancelotti clarified that the Brazilian center-back had no particular fitness issues during the game.

"Militão has nothing," the manager said (via Managing Madrid).

The news will provide respite to the manager and the fans, with injury concerns steadily piling up for Los Blancos.
