Real Madrid were dealt a blow as Kylian Mbappe had to leave the pitch in the first half after picking up a knock against Atalanta.

Mbappe opened the scoring for Real Madrid with a right-footed shot after skillfully acquiring the ball from Brahim Diaz in the 10th minute. The Frenchman's time on the pitch was cut short after he sustained an apparent muscle injury in the 35th minute and was substituted by Rodrygo.

The goal against Atalanta marked Mbappe's 50th Champions League goal, and he is the fourth-fastest in the competition to reach this milestone after Ruud van Nistelrooy, Lionel Messi, and Robert Lewandowski. He is also the second-youngest player to reach it after Messi, who achieved this feat at the age of 24 years and 284 days in 2012.

Along with scoring a goal against Atalanta, Mbappe had 19 touches and three shots on target while maintaining a pass accuracy of 91% during his 35 minutes on the pitch.

Mbappe's knock adds to the list of Real Madrid's injury woes, already having David Alaba, Daniel Carvajal, Éder Militão, Eduardo Camavinga, and Ferland Mendy out with injuries. The AS Monaco graduate has been under criticism since joining Los Blancos for not meeting expectations.

Real Madrid bagged a 3-2 win against Atalanta in the UEFA Champions League. This marks Los Blancos' second victory in their last five matches in the competition this season.

After Kylian Mbappe left the pitch with a knock in the 36th minute, Atalanta were awarded a penalty after Aurélien Tchouaméni committed a foul on Sead Kolasinac in the 45+2 minutes. Charles De Ketelaere found the equalizer for the hosts by successfully converting the penalty.
