Real Madrid are set to have attacker Vinicius Junior back in the squad ahead of their UEFA Champions League game at Atalanta on Tuesday (December 10). Los Blancos are coming off a 3-0 La Liga win at Girona at the weekend.
Jude Bellingham opened the scoring inside 36 minutes before Arda Guler doubled the visitors' lead 10 minutes into the second period. The embattled Kylian Mbappe - having missed penalties in successive games - added his side's third as Los Blancos returned to winning ways following a 2-1 reverse at Athletic Bilbao.
Meanwhile, Vinicius - who missed the last four games across competitions due to a muscle injury - is set to be included in the squad for the Champions League game at Atalanta in midweek.
Los Blancos have confirmed the same by naming the striker in their squad for the upcoming trip to the reigning UEFA Europa League winners. It's pertinent to note that Madrid beat Atalanta 2-0 in the UEFA Super Cup in Warsaw earlier this season.
Vinicius has had a decent season, registering 12 goals and eight assists in 18 games across competitions. That includes eight strikes and seven assists in 13 outings in La Liga, where the holders trail leaders Barcelona by two points but have a game in hand.
Real Madrid reportedly set to have Jude Bellingham available for Atalanta clash
In another heartening piece of news for boss Carlo Ancelotti, Real Madrid are set to have midfielder Jude Bellingham available for their Champions League game at Atalanta.
The 21-year-old had scored in the aforementioned Girona win but was substituted due to apparent discomfort. However, as per AS (via Managing Madrid), Bellingham is expected to be fit and available for the trip to Italy in midweek.
Bellingham has found form after a quiet start to his sophomore campaign. He had registered 23 goals and 13 assists across competitions last season as Los Blancos won three titles, including the La Liga and Champions League.
His goal against Girona made the Englishman the first player this season to score in five straight La Liga games. He also tied the tally of club top scorer Cristiano Ronaldo (4) - now at Al-Nassr - against Girona.
Madrid are looking to bounce back after a 2-0 defeat on matchday five at Premier League leaders Liverpool. They are 24th in the standings, having lost thrice in five games.
