Real Madrid have identified Spanish footballer Lucas Vazquez at the right-back position as their weakest link, as per Rodra (via Madrid Universal). After Dani Carvajal suffered an ACL injury, the 33-year-old is playing as Los Blancos' first-choice full-back.
Lucas Vazquez has played 14 matches as a full-back for Los Blancos this season, scoring two goals and also providing an assist. However, the Spaniard has failed to maintain consistency as a defender because he's originally an attacker.
As per the aforementioned report, Carlo Ancelotti has understood that rival clubs have started targeting Vasquez's defense, which is the weakest spot in the team to win matches. The La Liga giants tried signing Dani Carvajal's replacement in the summer transfer window.
However, they failed to secure an offer, leaving Vazquez to fill up the other positions. Los Blancos are linked with Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold and the Englishman can start negotiations from January 1. Nevertheless, understanding the problem, the La Liga giants are keen to sign a new right-back in the upcoming winter transfer window.
Carlo Ancelotti's men are currently third in the La Liga table with 37 points in 17 matches. Next up, they will host Sevilla at Santiago Bernabeu in Spanish top-tier football on Sunday, December 22.
Real Madrid ready to offer €30 million deal to French defender: Reports
Real Madrid are ready to sign AC Milan's Theo Hernandez for a reported transfer fee of €30 million next year, as per Spanish outlet Fichajes.net (via The Hard Tackle). The Frenchman left Los Blancos to join Rossoneri in July 2019 and he's currently nearing a return to Santiago Bernabeu.
The French defender has made 232 appearances for AC Milan, bagging 31 goals and 41 assists across all competitions. He also won the 2021/22 Serie A title with AC Milan and Ancelotti sees him as Ferland Mendy's potential replacement. Hernandez has also made 36 appearances for the French national team.
Earlier, Los Blancos were linked with Bayern Munich's Alphonso Davies as an upgrade for Ferland Mendy. Davies' current deal with the Bavarians will expire in the summer of 2025.
However, as per multiple reports, the Canadian footballer is close to signing a new contract with the Bundesliga giants. As a result, Real Madrid shifted their focus to Theo Hernandez as they are set to offer him a €30 million contract.
