Real Madrid are reportedly keeping an eye on Heidenheim midfielder Paul Wanner, according to transfer journalist Ekrem Konur. As per Konur on X, the La Liga giants are closely monitoring the progress of the 18-year-old German midfielder and have their scouts watching him to assess his potential.
Wanner is currently on loan at Heidenheim from Bayern Munich. He joined the newly promoted Bundesliga side in the summer, signing on a season-long loan for the 2024-25 season. The Bayern Munich academy graduate has shown good prospects since making his first-team debut in 2022.
However, the abundance of talents in the senior team has limited his opportunities for the Bavarian club. Wanner spent the 2023-24 season on loan at Bundesliga 2 side Elversberg and was subsequently sent on loan to Heidenheim.
Wanner has flourished at his present club, scoring four goals and two assists in seven games across competitions, thus making him one of the highly rated talents in German football. His contract with Bayern Munich doesn't expire until 2027, but the club could be forced to cash in on him now that he is in good form.
Real Madrid are slowly rebuilding their midfield department following Toni Kroos' retirement, and with Luka Modric nearing his final days at the club. Over the past couple of seasons, they have invested in young midfielders such as Eduardo Camavinga, Aurelien Tchouameni, and Arda Guler and could make a move for Wanner next.
The German prodigy primarily operates as an attacking midfielder, but can also be deployed as a left or right winger.
Real Madrid and Arsenal battle for Brazilian teenage sensation - Reports
Real Madrid will face competition from Arsenal and a host of other top European clubs for the signing of Brazilian youngster Vitor Reis. The 18-year-old defender is also on the radar of various clubs like Chelsea, Barcelona and Liverpool, but the Gunners and Los Blancos are reportedly leading the race for his signature.
According to The Mirror (via The Athletic), both clubs have made contact with the Palmeiras teenage sensation's representatives over a possible move. Reis is one of the highly rated prospects in the Brazilian league. He was promoted to the senior team at the start of the season and has established himself as a first-team regular, posting two goals in 15 appearances.
However, the club is not ready to let go of their young defender yet as he recently signed a contract extension until December 2028. Real Madrid are keen on bolstering their defensive unit with young talents and Reis fits the shoe.
