Real Madrid are planning to sign Cristiano Ronaldo’s 25-year-old Portuguese teammate Diogo Dalot in 2025. The defender currently plays for Manchester United and his contract with the Red Devils is valid until June 30, 2028.

Los Blancos are interested in making a surprise move for Diogo Dalot next year as the right-back's performances have caught the eye of the Spanish giants, as per GiveMeSport.

The publication also reported that Madrid are looking to strengthen their defense and are looking to sign in a long-term replacement for Dani Carvajal. The 32-year-old Spaniard's contract with the La Liga giants is valid until June 30, 2025.

Real Madrid will continue keeping track of Diogo Dalot's progress in the meantime, while Los Blancos are also interested in signing Tottenham Hotspur defender Cristian Romero ahead of the 2025/26 campaign, as per GiveMeSport.

Diogo Dalot arrived at Old Trafford in 2018 on a five-year contract for a fee of £19 million. The Portuguese defender was loaned to AC Milan for one season in 2020. So far, he has won the 2023–24 FA Cup and the 2022–23 EFL Cup with the Red Devils.

He also won the 2017–18 Primeira Liga with Porto before joining United.

Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti opened up about his experience of managing of Cristiano Ronaldo during the five-time Ballon d'Or winner's stint at Santiago Bernabéu. The Italian managed the Portuguese icon for two years during his first stint at Los Blancos from 2013 to 2015.

When asked how it was coaching Cristiano Ronaldo on The Obi One Podcast, Carlo Ancelotti said (via @MadridXtra on X):

"Coaching Cristiano Ronaldo? It was very easy. When you have a player who scores every game, it’s easy (laughs)."

Cristiano Ronaldo signed for Real Madrid in 2009 after six years at Manchester United. The Portugal national team captain is the Spanish giants' all-time leading goalscorer with 450 goals, while providing 131 assists in 438 appearances in all competitions.

During his nine-year tenure with Los Blancos, Ronaldo won two La Liga titles, two Copa del Reys, two Supercopa de Españas, four Champions League titles, two UEFA Super Cups, and three FIFA Club World Cups. He also won four of his five Ballon d'Or awards (2013, 2014, 2016, and 2017) during his time with the Spanish giants.
