Bayern Munich withdraw contract renewal offer for Real Madrid-linked star - Reports
Bayern Munich have withdrawn the contract renewal offer they prepared for Alphonso Davies, as per Spanish radio network Cadena SER. As a result, Real Madrid has received a huge boost in their pursuit of the Canadian defender.
Alphonso Davies has been on Real Madrid's transfer radar for a long time. However, a recent report claimed that the Bundesliga giants are looking forward to offering the 23-year-old an extension offer.
Davies joined Bayern Munich in January 2019 from Vancouver Whitecaps for a reported transfer fee of €14 million. Since then, the 23-year-old has made 195 appearances for the Bavarians, bagging 11 goals and 31 assists across competitions.
Additionally, the left-back has also won five Bundesliga titles, two DFB Pokal titles, the UEFA Champions League, and the FIFA World Cup title with the German giants. With Bayern reportedly withdrawing their contract offer, Davies' proposed move to Real Madrid is expected to gather pace in the coming weeks.
