Real Madrid's Vinicius Jr could be suspended for up to four games after receiving a red card against Valencia on Friday, according to Tiempo de Juego via Madrid Xtra. The reigning champions went behind early in the game, with Hugo Duro scoring in the 27th minute.

Los Blancos rallied without success for long periods in the game before disaster struck in the 79th minute. While appealing for a penalty Vinicius Jr clashed with Valencia goalkeeper Stole Dimitrievski, who appeared to touch him in the back.

The Brazilian reacted furiously, hitting the Macedonian in the neck. Referee Soto Grado reviewed the incident on the pitch side monitor and showed the player a straight red card.

If the incident is deemed as aggression as per Article 103 of the RFEF Disciplinary Code, the 24-year-old could face a four-game ban, to be served simultaneously. However, if it isn't considered that severe, Vinicius Jr would be suspended for two to three games.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid were a goal down and a man but fought back in the dying minutes of the game. Luka Modric latched on to a first-time pass from Jude Bellingham in the 85th minute to get Los Blancos back into the game. The Englishman then got into the act in the fifth minute of injury time, intercepting a back pass to slot the ball into the net and secure a 2-1 win.

What is Vinicius Jr's disciplinary record with Real Madrid?

Friday's red card was Vinicius Jr.'s first for Real Madrid's senior team in his seven-year stay in LaLiga. The Brazilian has previously received his marching orders during a game for Real Madrid Castilla against Celta B when he picked up a second yellow for simulation.

He also had a commendable disciplinary record with Flamengo. In his 69 games for the Brazilian side, the player picked up nine yellow cards, but never received a red.

Interestingly, Vinicius has never been sent off while playing for Selecao either, receiving six yellow cards across age groups. The player has been outstanding for Real Madrid in recent years and narrowly missed out on the Ballon d'Or in 2024.

However, the Brazilian won The Best FIFA Men's Player of The Year Award in December last year following his contributions to Los Blancos. Despite the arrival of Kylian Mbappe over the summer, Vinicius has held his own this season. He has registered 13 goals and nine assists from 21 games across competitions.
