Real Madrid enter the international break in second place on the La Liga table after nine games this season. Carlo Ancelotti's team has won six and drawn three of their nine games in the league so far.
Meanwhile, Los Blancos are ready to submit an offer for a Liverpool full-back in January. Elsewhere, the Spanish giants have been urged to take Joshua Kimmich to the Santiago Bernabeu.
On that note, let's look at the major Real Madrid transfer stories from October 7, 2024.
Real Madrid offer €12m for Trent Alexander-Arnold
Real Madrid are ready to offer €12m for Trent Alexander-Arnold in January, according to Fichajes. The English right-back has entered the final year of his contract with Liverpool and is yet to sign a new deal.
Los Blancos are keeping a close eye on the developments at Anfield. It was previously believed that the La Liga giants would move for Alexander-Arnold next summer, when he will be available for free.
However, Dani Carvajal's unfortunate injury has now accelerated their pursuit of the 26-year-old. The Spanish right-back tore his ACL in the dying minutes of the 2-0 win over Villarreal on Saturday (October 5).
The 32-year-old isn't expected to play again this year as he prepares for surgery. Real Madrid have now hastened their plans to sign Alexander-Arnold and want to move for him in January.
They are even willing to pay a small fee to secure his services. Liverpool would ideally want the player to stay at Anfield, but if he continues to stall a new deal, they will be tempted to consider the La Liga giants' offer.
Los Blancos told to sign Joshua Kimmich by former player
Real Madrid legend Toni Kroos has advised the club to sign Joshua Kimmich, according to Fichajes. The Bayern Munich midfielder has entered the final year of his contract and hasn't signed a new deal yet.
Multiple clubs are already hot on Kimmich's heels and Los Blancos have now entered the race at Kroos' behest. The 34-year-old hung up his boots this summer, leaving a void in the middle of the park at the Santiago Bernabeu.
The La Liga giants opted against signing a replacement this year, but Kimmich could be the perfect candidate for the job. His availability on a Bosman move next summer makes the option all the more lucrative. However, Real Madrid have targeted younger players in recent windows and will have to alter their transfer strategy to sign the 29-year-old.
Liverpool leading race for Aurelien Tchouameni
Liverpool are the favorites to lap up Aurelien Tchouameni in 2025, according to Todo Fichajes. The French midfielder has been a first-team regular for Real Madrid this season, appearing 11 times across competitions, all of which were starts.
However, Carlo Ancelotti is apparently unimpressed by Tchouameni and could be open to his departure. The Reds are looking to upgrade their midfield in 2025 after missing out on Martin Zubimendi this year.
Tchouameni is a long-term target for the Anfield hierarchy and they believe that the opportunity is ripe for them to take advantage. Arsenal and Manchester United are also interested in the 24-year-old, and the La Liga giants could let him go for €80m in January.
