Following a goalless first half, Liverpool opened their scoring with Portuguese forward Diogo Jota's goal from an assist by Mo Salah in the 60th minute. The Egypt national team captain doubled the score for the Reds in the 65th minute, setting a new Premier League record. The match ended in a 2-0 win for Arne Slot's squad.

Liverpool reportedly interested in Real Sociedad star as a potential long-term replacement for Mohamed Salah
Liverpool are keen on signing Real Sociedad right winger Takefusa Kubo, as per a report from TuttoJuve. According to TBR Football, the Reds have identified the 23-year-old Japanese as a long-term replacement for Mohamed Salah.
Takefusa Kubo joined Real Sociedad from Real Madrid in 2022. He was loaned to three different clubs including Mallorca, Villarreal, and Getafe for the majority of his tenure at Santiago Bernabéu. His current contract with Real Sociedad runs until June 30, 2029.
Mohamed Salah, who arrived at Anfield in 2017 from Roma, is under contract with the Reds valid until June 30, 2025. He has recorded 212 goals and 90 assists for the Merseyside club during his time at Anfield. He was awarded the club's Player of the Season for the fourth time in his career in June.
