Manchester United fans on X have blasted Diogo Dalot for his poor decision-making after he was sent off during their 5-3 penalty shootout win against Arsenal. The two sides locked horns in the third round of the FA Cup, playing out a 1-1 draw in normal time, at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday (January 12).
After a goalless first half, Bruno Fernandes smashed the ball home to break the deadlock in the 52nd minute. However, Dalot - who had already been booked in the 49th minute for a poor tackle - needlessly slid into Mikel Merino to receive his marching orders (61').
Arsenal took full advantage of this when Gabriel Magalhaes leveled the scores two minutes later following his deflected volley. The Gunners had numerous chances to win the game in the second half, only to be denied by Manchester United goalkeeper Altay Bayindir, who also saved Martin Odegaard's penalty in the 72nd minute.

However, the Red Devils defended well to take the game to penalties. Kai Havertz was the only player to miss his spot-kick, ensuring Ruben Amorim and Co. sealed a 5-3 win in the shootout.
Prior to his sending-off, Dalot had a poor game as well. The 25-year-old left-wing-back completed 11 passes from an attempted 19 with an accuracy of 58 percent, created zero chances, and lost five duels.

Manchester United goalkeeper Altay Bayindir has admitted he just wants to help the club thrive after he had an excellent performance during their FA Cup win over Arsenal.
Bayindir has struggled for minutes this season, having been under Andre Onana in the pecking order. The 26-year-old has made just four appearances across all competitions this season.
However, he was named the Player of the Match against the Gunners, making six saves and saving two penalties in total. He also made 10 recoveries, receiving a match rating of 9.0 (via FotMob).
