Barcelona youngster Lamine Yamal has named his strike against Real Madrid in the Blaugrana's 4-0 victory as his favorite goal for the club. Hansi Flick's side absolutely demolished their arch rivals at the Santiago Bernabeu back in October with a 4-0 scoreline.
Barcelona started the 2024-25 season on a high under their new manager Hansi Flick and dominated against almost every opposition in the La Liga. They traveled to face a struggling Real Madrid side in October and secured a huge result at the Spanish capital club's home stadium.
After the game was 0-0 at half-time, Barca took their game to another level in the second half. Robert Lewandowski scored in the 54th and 56th minutes before Yamal made it 3-0 in the 77th minute and Raphinha made it 4-0 seven minutes later.
Yamal has explained why it was a dream come true for him to score against rivals Real Madrid in that game. He insisted that his strike ended any chance of a Los Blancos' comeback. The Spain international said, as quoted by Barca Universal:
“I was very happy with my goal at the Bernabeu because we were leading 0-2, and everyone knows that Madrid often scores in the final minutes, so the 0-3 almost sealed the game. It was a Clasico watched by everyone, so scoring in that match was a dream.”
Lamine Yamal is widely regarded as the future of Barcelona at just 17 years of age and looks destined for the top. He has already made 72 appearances for his boyhood club scoring 13 goals while providing 21 assists.
The Spaniard has been in excellent form for the Catalan giants this season scoring six times and providing 12 assists in 21 outings. He is capped 17 times for Spain and has scored thrice for his country while producing eight assists. He played a key role in helping Spain win the UEFA European Championship 2024.
