Real Madrid fans have called out Ferland Mendy and Lucas Vasquez despite their 2-1 win over Valencia in the La Liga. The duo were poor and failed to offer any meaningful contribution in defense.

Hugo Duro scored for Valencia in the 27th minute after placing a right-footed shot into the back of the net. In the 52nd minute, Cesar Tarrega fouled Kylian Mbappe in the box and referee Cesar Soto Grado awarded Madrid a penalty.

However, Jude Bellingham missed the spot-kick in the 55th minute. Four minutes later (59’), Mbappe scored for Madrid but his goal was ruled out for offside.

In the 79th minute, Vinicius was sent off following an incident involving goalkeeper Stole Dimitrievski. It appeared that Vinicius angrily reacted to Dimitrievski's touch and pushed the goalkeeper in retaliation.

In the 85th minute, Madrid found their equalizer through Luka Modric following a pass from Bellingham. In added time, (90+5), Bellingham gave Real Madrid the lead as his shot was too powerful for goalkeeper Dimitrievski to stop.

Mendy played for 68 minutes, and his passing accuracy was 91% (43/47). He lost possession of the ball six times and registered only 57 touches (via Sofascore).

Meanwhile, Vasquez featured for 90 minutes and he had a passing accuracy of 93% (51/55). He lost possession of the ball 10 times and registered only one interception in defense (via Sofascore):

In the game's aftermath, fans took to X to express their disappointment with the duo's performance, with one tweeting:

"We need to find new fullbacks, Ship Mendy and Vazquez to Saudi , even Tchouameni is doing a better job than these two despite being a midfielder."
"Please let them ship Vazquez and Mendy out of my club 😭," another added.
"Get rid of Mendy and Vazquez," a fan opined.
"Even if we have won we shouldn't forget the way we performed against 19th rank Valencia. Absolutely embarrassing from Carlo Ancelotti. Mbappe is absolutely shit. Mendy and Vazquez? I have no words," another fan vented.
"Ancelotti is BIG-HEADED in the most annoying way. Why do Vazquez and Mendy start games in 2025. Then he has Camavinga and he is still playing Rodrygo in a front 3.," another chimed in.
"Mendy and Vazquez don't deserve to play for Real Madrid this season. It's just sad watching these 2 play. They belong in the 2nd division.," wrote another.

Despite missing a penalty, Bellingham was arguably one of Madrid's best players. He registered one assist and scored the goal securing all three points for Carlo Ancelotti's men.

The Englishman had a passing accuracy of 70% (35/50). He registered two key passes and created on big chance (via Sofascore).

Bellingham has scored seven goals and registered five assists in 15 league games for Madrid this season. Real Madrid are the league leaders in the La Liga 2024-25 standings having secured 43 points from 19 games.
