Chelsea fans have hit out at Benoit Badiashile for his poor defensive awareness in a 2-1 pre-season friendly loss to La Liga outfit Real Madrid on Tuesday (August 6).
The Blues, who appointed ex-Leicester City boss Enzo Maresca as their new head coach earlier this summer, slumped to their third pre-season defeat recently. Lucas Vazquez and Brahim Diaz netted a goal each for Real Madrid, while Noni Madueke scored for the Blues.
In the 27th minute of the pre-season match, Diaz received Vinicius Junior's outside of the boot pass. The Moroccan got past Filip Jorgensen and slotted in a goal from an acute angle. However, fans believe that Badiashile could have stopped the ball from going in easily.
A Chelsea supporter slammed the French centre-back, posting on X:
"Badiashile should be arrested. This guy doesn't fit Chelsea at all. Just take a look at [this]."
Another fan hinted that Badiashile is not good at anything, writing on X:
"This Badiashile guy... I want to know what you are good at? [Shaking my head], too soft to be a footballer 😒"
A fan claimed that the Blues should sell Badiashile, commenting on X:
"Can't he slide? Badiashile, get out of our club."
Lambasting the former AS Monaco defender, a supporter wrote on X:
"If Badiashile ever slides, will he die??? What sort of useless defender is this? No proper defender will allow such a weak ball enter his net."
Comparing Badiashile with Thiago Silva, a Blues fan posted on X:
"A "100" years old Thiago Silva will not allow this ball in but Badiashile did it so easily 😭😒"
Labelling Badiashile the worst defender in the world, a fan wrote on X:
"Badiashile has to be the worst defender alive and I'm not even hating."
Another fan slammed the 23-year-old left-footed star, posting on X:
"Badiashile is useless. What was he doing. Best in stretching his arms when we concede goals. Useless guy."
A fan compared Badiashile with a Manchester United star, writing on X:
"Badiashile is worse than [Harry] Maguire at his worst."
