Chelsea fans have slammed Robert Sanchez following their 2-1 win over Newcastle United at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, October 27, in the Premier League. The Spanish goalkeeper failed to keep a clean sheet once again as the Blues had to count on Cole Palmer's brilliance to secure three points.

The London giants took the lead in the 18th minute through Nicolas Jackson. However, Alexander Isak equalized for the Magpies in the 32nd minute.

Chelsea needed Palmer to bail them out after the break, with the Englishman finding the back of the net in the 47th minute. Despite the win, Robert Sanchez's performance, especially with the ball at his feet, left a lot to be desired.

Fans were displeased with the player's efforts and took to social media to share their views. One commented:

"Robert Sanchez should not start any more games for Chelsea, full stop, his passing, which is why he is supposedly playing, sucks."

Another noted:

"Bro is allergic to clean sheet."

One fan insisted that Sanchez isn't good enough for the Blues, stating:

"sanchez is just not good enough"

One fan urged the club to offload the Spaniard, posting:

"Get that fraud out of my club ffs."

Another quipped:

"Idk what ball playing ability Maresca saw in him…"

One fan pointed out that Sanchez's distribution was really poor, noting:

"I have never seen such a bad distribution from a goalkeeper. Sanchez out."

Another commented:

"Man is so bad!!!"

Robert Sanchez has appeared nine times for the London giants this season and has registered just two clean sheets.

Will Chelsea sign a new goalkeeper in 2025?

Chelsea signed Filip Jorgensen from Villarreal this summer for a reported £20.7m fee. However, the Danish goalkeeper has struggled for chances under Enzo Maresca this season.

Jorgensen has appeared exclusively in the EFL Cup and Europa Conference League this season, registering two clean sheets from five games. He is yet to make an appearance for the Blues in the Premier League.

With Robert Sanchez struggling to impress, it could be time for Maresca to hand Jorgensen his league debut. Meanwhile, the London giants were also linked with Diogo Costa over the summer.

Although a move failed to materialize, Chelsea could be tempted to return for the Portuguese shot-stopper at the end of this season. However, Costa is under contract with Porto until 2027, so prising him away won't be a walk in the park.
