Gary Neville has urged Ruben Amorim to drop one of Casemiro and Christian Eriksen for Manchester United's clash with Liverpool this weekend. He believes that the midfielders do not have the legs to play in the league and cannot be starting together.

Speaking on Sky Sports, Neville expressed his concern with Amorim starting Casemiro and Eriksen against the league leaders Liverpool on Sunday. He added that the back three – Harry Maguire, Lisandro Martinez, and Matthijs de Ligt – already don't have pace and hence, it would make things worse. He said:

"Casemiro and [Christian] Eriksen haven't got the legs to get around. Casemiro and Eriksen shouldn't be playing together in the Premier League. It is just so easy. When you saw the Manchester United starting XI you had to think it would be very difficult for this team to play well.
"The two wing-backs aren't very good in the attacking part of the pitch. The two central midfielders can't run. The back three have no legs. They have been absolutely awful. You are watching the worst pound-for-pound team in the country. There are only three of them who can say they have been alright under Amorim: Dalot, [Noussair] Mazraoui and Amad."

Manchester United lost 2-0 to Newcastle United at Old Trafford on Monday night. They are currently 14th in the league table and are seven points above the relegation zone.

Ruben Amorim planning to stick to his system at Manchester United

Ruben Amorim has said that he has no plans to change his system at Manchester United. He believes that there is no time for him to change things as he said:

"It's like playing with three it's, more or less, the same thing of playing with four. We can change the characteristics, if you play with Amad on the wing, it could be a little bit different. We have some games that we press in 4-4-2. So I don't see it that way. I didn't choose the players specifically for that position, but that I already knew, but I have to sell my idea, if I'm going to change all the time, it's going to be even worse.
"But I understand that they have a lot of difficulties. They spend two years playing one way and then they are playing another. And with a lot of losses, it's really tough on them and you can feel it during the games. Even today, when we try to score and we are near to score, it's more from them than the organisation."

Manchester United have lost four of their last five Premier League matches. They are up against Arsenal in the FA Cup on January 12 after their league clash against Liverpool this weekend.
