Manchester United fans on X have blasted Rasmus Hojlund after he struggled to make an impact during their 2-0 loss against Wolverhampton Wanderers. The two sides faced off in the Premier League at the Molineux on Thursday, December 26.
Matheus Cunha showed great intent in the first half and was a constant threat to the Red Devils' defense. However, the scoreline remained goalless at the break. Bruno Fernandes was given a second yellow card in the 47th minute following his poor challenge on Nelson Semedo.
Manchester United were unable to get back into the game. They conceded in the 58th minute after Cunha's corner kick crept past Andre Onana and into the top corner. The latter then rolled the ball into the path of Hee-chan Hwang who smashed home (90+9') to make it 2-0.
Hojlund started up front, playing 79 minutes before being replaced by Joshua Zirkzee. The 21-year-old completed 5/8 passes with an accuracy of 63 percent, landed no shots on goal, created one chance, completed zero dribbles, and lost eight duels.
One Manchester United fan wasn't impressed by Hojlund's apparent moaning on the pitch, comparing him to Cristiano Ronaldo:
"Wtf is wrong with Hojlund though? Shouting like he's Ronaldo"
Another fan slammed his performance:
"When will people unanimously agree that Hojlund is nowhere near the level required? Spends 90% of the game on the floor and it’s genuinely painful watching him play football. Almost cringeworthy, not good for the eyes at all."
Other fans reacted below:
"Hojlund is playing for a move to Fulham so he can eventually get to AEW," one fan predicted
"hojlund bro please… do something that strikers do," one fan pleaded
"Hojlund constantly complains at others and then when he gets the ball loses it straight away?" another questioned
"We disrespected Romelu by saying Hojlund was the Belgian Lukaku," another admitted
