Manchester United star Rasmus Hojlund is looking forward to facing Arsenal in their upcoming FA Cup encounter. He admitted that the match would be tough and that the Red Devils were naturally aware of the Gunners' set-piece threat.
Speaking to the media, Hojlund said that Manchester United were keen on retaining the FA Cup and would be ready to go all out again. He added that they were focused on getting better on the pitch after the Liverpool draw and said (via Metro):
"It’s a tough first opponent and away as well. But we’re going to go for it and, and try to go for it again this year. It’s a good game and the Emirates is a nice stadium. The pitch is very good. I had my debut there as well. So it’s a special place for me and a good opponent. I’m looking forward to it.
"I think we need to be sharp at set-pieces, they have been very good on that, and they scored twice from that last time around. So yeah, very focused there. Just trying to keep improving and do what the manager’s saying and I think we will be good."
Manchester United faced Arsenal in the Premier League in December 2024, losing 2-0, with the Gunners scoring both their goals from corners. They recently did well against Liverpool, managing a 2-2 draw at Anfield on Sunday, January 5.
Rasmus Hojlund happy to play under new Manchester United head coach
Rasmus Hojlund opened up on playing under new head coach Ruben Amorim, saying he gave the players a lot of freedom to express themselves. He added that the Portuguese coach needed to be given time to deliver and said:
"It’s very nice to have a manager like that, you can see the passion and fight inside of him and he gives a lot of freedom to his players, but it’s a very good balance. It’s still very early days and our results haven’t been good recently but it’s about where we will be and I think if we keep going like this, we are on a rough path, but you have to get over that period and then start seeing a response. It’s important to start winning to give some confidence."
Manchester United sit 13th in the Premier League table and have won just once in their last five league matches. Amorim, who replaced Erik ten Hag in November, has won just four of his 12 matches so far, while losing six.
