Liverpool are currently battling with Manchester United and Newcastle United to secure a top-four finish in the Premier League this season. FiveThirtyEight's supercomputer has given the Reds a 27% chance of securing a UEFA Champions League spot.

Newcastle have been given a 90% chance of finishing the season in the top four. The Red Devils, on the other hand, have a 76% chance, according to the simulation.

Jurgen Klopp's team earned their sixth straight victory when they defeated Brentford by a score of 1-0 in their latest Premier League game. Mohamed Salah got on the scoresheet for the Merseysiders.

Manchester United and Newcastle United were both defeated this past weekend. The Magpies suffered a 2-0 loss against Arsenal, while United were beaten 1-0 by West Ham United. Erik ten Hag's team have now lost two games in a row, having lost to Brighton & Hove Albion in their last match.

Liverpool have 62 points from 35 matches and are fifth in the Premier League. United are fourth with 63 points from 34 matches. Newcastle are third. Eddie Howe's team have 65 points from 34 league matches.

Despite losing two games in a row, Manchester United are still favorites to secure a top-four finish in the league this season. The Red Devils can secure the position by winning three of their remaining four games.

Speaking to the media following his team's disappointing 1-0 loss against West Ham United, Ten Hag pointed out the fact. The Dutch manager told the media:

"Nothing changed, only we could have made it easier. We need three wins. Everything is in our hands, we have to believe. It's not about Liverpool, it's about us. If we bring our standards, we will win games. We don't look to others, we look to ourselves."

United will next play Wolverhampton Wanderers in a Premier League home clash on May 13. Jurgen Klopp's team, meanwhile, will return to action on May 15 to take on Leicester City at the King Power Stadium.
