Manchester United minority shareholder Sir Jim Ratcliffe has blasted the club for their recent performances in an interview. The English giants have failed to impress in recent years and currently sit in the bottom half of the Premier League table after a poor start to the campaign.

At the start of the year, the 72-year-old Billionaire purchased 27.7% of the club from the Glazers and has begun a raft of changes to help return the side to the glory of previous years.

While the team grabbed the FA Cup last season, the Red Devils have left much to be desired and need to improve significantly to return to their place among the sport's best.

In a recent interview, the billionaire blasted the club, telling the United We Stand fanzine:

"The club has become mediocre. It is supposed to be one of the best football clubs in the world. We have to make some difficult and unpopular decisions. If you shy away from the difficult decisions, then nothing much is going to change.”

Manchester United face Nottingham Forest in the Premier League today (December 7). They will be keen to return to winning ways after their 2-0 midweek defeat to Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

"We are a massive club but not a massive team" - Manchester United boss

Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim has made an honest admission about the club ahead of his side's Premier League clash with Nottingham Forrest. The Red Devils suffered their first loss under the Portuguese tactician's tutelage earlier in the week after a 2-0 loss to Arsenal.

The 20-time English champions have been poor this season, and former manager Erik ten Hag was fired after his poor start. His successor discussed the team's quality in his recent pre-match conference, saying (via FotMob):

"We are a massive club but not a massive team and we know it, It's not a problem to say it. We want to improve in a different moment from Arsenal but you can see it during the game. I think we have to believe more. We were not dominant in the game but in control."
"They are professional athletes, They can improve. They cannot be faster but they can run more with training. We are in that path. We have to improve in training and then in games and they will be able to do it because every coach has a different way of pressing.

Manchester United have a chance to make amends for their midweek defeat when they face their Premier League opponents today. The Red Devils currently sit in 13th place with 19 points after 14 games in the league.
