Fans on X have slammed Manchester City defender Kyle Walker for his antics during a confrontation with Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund in the Manchester derby on Sunday, December 15. Walker appeared to fake a fall after Hojlund confronted him and they pressed their foreheads together in the Premier League match.
The 195th Manchester derby saw a struggling Manchester City and Manchester United lock horns at the Etihad Stadium. Prior to the clash, City were fifth in the league while Ruben Amorim’s men were in 13th place.
Manchester City had more of the ball in the first half, but neither side created significant chances in the opening exchanges. Josko Gvardiol scored the opener in the 36th minute as he rose highest to head home a deflected cross from Kevin De Bruyne.
A few minutes after City took the lead, Kyle Walker shoved Rasmus Hojlund to the ground and was penalized by the referee. Hojlund, however, stood up angrily and confronted the Englishman, who went down rather theatrically.
Fans weren't happy with Walker’s reaction and took to X to berate him.

Roy Keane slams Manchester City defender Kyle Walker for his antics against Manchester United
Former Manchester United midfielder Roy Keane also criticized Kyle Walker’s reaction to his confrontation with Rasmus Hojlund.
When he was asked if there should've been a red card dished out by referee Anthony Taylor, Keane responded (via talkSPORT):
"Yeah, to Walker."
He added:
“You don’t mind a bit of this, this is going to happen in a game, a bit of angry bargy, of course. He’s obviously been blocked, but Walker.. of course it’s a foul and a free-kick and Hojlund’s not happy and that’s fine. But he then goes over, how can Walker [go down]? He must be embarrassed. He must be embarrassed to go down like that. An experienced player, this isn’t contact. Look at this! I don’t know the guy and I’m embarrassed for him.”
