Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham has opened up on his biggest dream in football. The England international has claimed that he wants to represent his country along with his younger brother Jobe Bellingham.
While Jude is already regarded as one of the best players on the planet, Jobe is still pretty much in the development phase of his career. The 18-year-old plies his trade for Sunderland in the Championship and is making a name for himself.
Jude Bellingham recently revealed that he dreams of linking up with his younger brother to represent England. The Real Madrid midfielder said having grown up with his brother, he would love to win trophies alongside him for England. The former Borussia Dortmund star said on the latest episode of the documentary series 'Out of The Floodlights,' as quoted by talkSPORT:
"Because we're a similar age and we've played together for so long in the street and on the tufts of grass, to play with my brother for England that would be the biggest dream of my life."
The 21-year-old added:
"That would mean more than any of the trophies. Especially if we managed to do it on a consistent basis and play at a major tournament together and win things together. Honestly, nothing would even get close to that. Nothing."
While his elder brother has already become a superstar, Jobe Bellingham wants to make his own name. He also claimed that he and Jude are each other's biggest fans. The Sunderland star said (via talkSPORT):
"I'm really conscious of that because I know it's something people will always throw in his face and it's not fair because he's an amazing talent, amazing player in his own right. People will use him to have a dig at me and vice versa. We're almost like each other's biggest fans but also the biggest target for each other because we care about each other so much."
Jobe added:
"He has to deal with more than I would have had to at his age and he deals with it with so much class. He wants to try and create his own legacy and his own path. At the end of the day, as long as he's happy, that's what I really care about to be honest. His happiness means more to me than my own."
Jude Bellingham has been exceptional since joining Real Madrid in the summer of 2023 from Borussia Dortmund. He scored 23 goals and provided 13 assists in 42 games last season, helping Real Madrid secure the La Liga title, Champions League, and the Supercopa de España.
The Golden Boy winner in 2023 was named the La Liga Player of the Season and the UEFA Champions League Young Player of the Season for his exploits last campaign. He is also among the favorites for the Ballon d'Or in 2024 along with his Real Madrid teammate Vinicius Junior.
Meanwhile, Jobe Bellingham has been at Sunderland since 2023, having come through Birmingham City's youth ranks like his elder brother Jude Bellingham. He has been excellent for the Black Cats, registering seven goals and two assists in 52 games so far.
Carlo Ancelotti offers his take on Jude Bellingham's first season at Real Madrid
Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has claimed that Jude Bellingham's exceptional debut season at Real Madrid took the football world by storm. The England international enjoyed a blistering first season at the Santiago Bernabeu following his €103 million switch from Borussia Dortmund in 2023.
Hailing the midfielder for his impact at the club, Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti said, as quoted by Madrid Xtra:
“Jude Bellingham's growth since he joined? I think Jude surprised everyone last season in the beginning and now he's doing really well, he's really mature, he takes more responsibility in the squad, he's a really important player for us. I think he'll do the same for us this season like last season."
The Italian manager added:
“Expecting Jude to achieve more in his 2nd season? I think so, he has a lot of quality in every sense, he has a really strong character, he's a really important player in the squad not only for what he does on the pitch but also in the environment, it's really important for his personality."
Jude Bellingham has provided one assist in three appearances for Real Madrid thus far this season. He missed the first five games this season with a muscle injury and is yet to return to his best.
