Former Manchester United star Paul Pogba, who was laid low by a doping ban in September 2023, shared a cryptic post on Instagram regarding his search for a new club. The 31-year-old is currently a free agent after Juventus let him depart when he was found violating doping regulations.
Pogba was initially banned for four years, but the term was later reduced to 18 months on appeal. Reports suggest that the Frenchman can start training from this month, and in March, he will be eligible to play again. Reports have linked him to a return to Manchester United, where he spent two terms (2011-12 and 2016-22).
Pogba wrote this on his Instagram handle:
"Pray, work and patience... The future is already written. God is in control."

Pogba's caption to his Instagram post could mean that he is done worrying about his future and is willing to put everything in the hands of the almighty. The doping ban must have been extremely painful for him and his family, given that it came when he was at the peak of his powers as a footballer.
Paul Pogba spent two terms at Manchester United
Pogba, who is a product of the Manchester United academy, spent two terms at the club. The first of these terms was from 2011 to 2012, after which he was sold to Juventus. Pogba then returned to United in the 2016 summer transfer window, reportedly costing the club €105m.
However, the Frenchman's relationship with then-manager Jose Mourinho - who was instrumental in bringing him on board - deteriorated. This led to him not being able to perform to the best of his potential at the club. The central midfielder eventually scored 39 goals and bagged 48 assists in the 233 appearances he made.
Pogba was later sold to Juventus as a free agent by United in the 2022 summer transfer window. This was in keeping with a coincidence that ensured he played for just two clubs in his senior career, and both across two terms. He had earlier spent four seasons at Juventus from 2012 to 2016, and went there again in 2022.
Pogba's record at Juventus is slightly better than that at United. In the 190 appearances he made for the Old Lady across all competitions, he scored 34 goals and picked up 41 assists. He is also a World Cup winner with France (2018) and has scored on 11 occasions for the national team.
