"I want to achieve history at Manchester United" - Amad Diallo after signing new contract
Diallo has expressed his desire to succeed at Old Trafford after signing a contract extension that will keep him at the club until 2030. The 22-year-old forward is gradually becoming a cult hero at Old Trafford after a relatively difficult start to life at the club.
Diallo joined United in January 2021 for a transfer fee in the region of £37 million from Serie A club Atalanta. He has since made just 49 appearances for United, scoring nine goals.
After signing the contract extension, Amad Diallo stated that he would love to make history at the club. He told the club's official website:
"I am really proud to have signed this new contract. I have had some incredible moments with this club already but there is so much more to come."
"I have huge ambitions in the game and I want to achieve history at Manchester United. I have learnt so much since arriving here four years ago; I am very grateful to the coaches and staff who have helped me to develop, and to the fans for driving me forward every day."
Diallo concluded:
“It has been a difficult season for everyone, but I fully believe that we are on the right path and the future is going to be really special. I am ready to give everything to help the team and make our supporters proud again.”
Next up for Diallo and Manchester United will be an away game at the Emirates against Arsenal in the FA Cup third round this weekend.
