Arsenal legend Tony Adams has suggested that Jurrien Timber and William Saliba were lucky to get away unpunished during their game against Manchester United. The Gunners secured a 2-0 win over the Red Devils at the Emirates in the Premier League, thanks to goals from Timber and Saliba, on Wednesday, December 4.

Both goals came through corners, with the north London side crowding the opposition box. The Dutch defender sent his team ahead in the 54th minute after flicking in a Declan Rice corner.

Speaking on Premier League Productions, Adams accepted that Timber got away with a push on Rasmus Hojlund for the goal.

"The cross from Declan Rice is on a six pence every time, he must be practising. And it is the little guy who is scoring, the delivery is that good it doesn’t matter if you’re Timber. There is a little push at the near post he has got away with and he’s flicked it in," said Adams.

He continued:

"There’s a little touch from Timber, he has pushed him out of the way and it is a little flick into the goal. Referees are not blowing up this stuff up now. But I am not complaining, this is brilliant."

Adams acknowledged that referee could have ruled out Arsenal's second goal for a push as well.

"Look at Saliba, he ends up scoring and he’s pushed him. The referee has let it all go. Stop the goalkeeper, pin the goalkeeper, you can’t get out to challenge and they move the defenders around," said Adams.

Mikel Arteta's team next face Fulham at Craven Cottage on Saturday, December 7, in the Premier League.
