Real Madrid legend Toni Kroos has revealed that he regularly sees Eden Hazard while picking up his kids from school. The German midfielder retired from football this summer, drawing the curtains on an illustrious career.

Kroos announced his decision to retire in the final weeks of last season. The Champions League final was his last game for Los Blancos, where he helped them lift the coveted title for the 15th time.

Hazard, meanwhile, terminated his contract with Real Madrid in the summer of 2023. The Belgian went on to announce his retirement from football in October last year.

Speaking recently to journalist Mario Cortegana, Kroos insisted that the two of them also picked up their kids from school during their playing days.

“More time to pick up kids from school now? Well, I’ve always done that. I see Eden Hazard at the school too. There are lots of active players who do less, but the two of us have always taken care of this,” said Kroos.

Toni Kroos joined Los Blancos in the summer of 2014 from Bayern Munich and established himself as one of the finest midfielders of his generation. He has appeared 465 times for the LaLiga giants in his career, registering 28 goals and 99 assists.

Eden Hazard, meanwhile, arrived at Real Madrid as one of the finest attackers in the world in 2019. Los Blancos reportedly paid Chelsea €100m for his signature, but the Belgian never lived up to expectations. Hazard appeared just 76 times for the club in a stint marred with injuries, scoring seven goals and setting up 12 more.

Real Madrid have registered a decent start to the new campaign, registering nine wins in their 13 games across competitions. They are second in the LaLiga table after 10 games.

Los Blancos strengthened their squad over the summer by roping in Kylian Mbappe. With Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo Goes, and Jude Bellingham also in the mix, the Spanish champions were expected to blow away opposition this season.

Unfortunately, Real Madrid haven't been able to dictate games so far, and perhaps the midfield could be the root of their problem. Toni Kroos handed his fabled No. 8 jersey to Federico Valverde, but the Uruguyan is yet to live up to the task this season.

The German registered 0.98 switches per 90 minutes, completing 0.78 of them. Valverde, meanwhile, has averaged 0.5 switches per game this season, completing 0.43.
